That depends on your profession. Regulated professions such as physiotherapy or nursing require recognition. For non-regulated professions with a university degree, recognition is usually not required if your university and degree are rated accordingly in the ANABIN database.
The duration depends, among other things, on your profession, the responsible authorities and how complete your documents are. Through the accelerated procedure, the process often takes about two to four months, based on our experience.
Yes. In professions such as physiotherapy or nursing, you can already work in Germany under certain conditions while the recognition procedure is ongoing. However, your activities are limited until you have full recognition and a professional license.
For placement and entry, you should reach at least a stable B1 level. Full recognition in healthcare professions usually requires a B2 language certificate. We check your language progress regularly and recommend reaching at least a solid B1+ to B2 level by the time you start work.
An interview only makes sense once you can introduce yourself independently, understand questions and express yourself well enough. Good communication is especially important in healthcare professions. That’s why we only introduce you to employers once you’ve reached a stable B1 level.
As a rule, we coordinate the accelerated skilled-worker procedure under § 81a AufenthG together with your future employer. With an existing recognition decision, it usually takes about 1.5 to 2 months in NRW to reach preliminary approval. This is followed by the visa appointment and visa issuance, so you should generally plan for around 2.5 to 3 months for the visa phase overall.
As soon as your employment contract is finalized, we usually start the housing search. Since housing is very scarce in many German cities, a furnished temporary apartment is often the best solution for the first period – even if it can be a bit more expensive. After your arrival, we also support you with the handover of your apartment and your registration.
Yes, spouses and children can enter Germany together with you under certain conditions. If your family is part of the procedure from the start, we support this process too. For a later family reunification, we advise you on the next steps.
